Modernes Büro mit Tunneldecke und integrierter LED-Beleuchtung in warm- und kaltweißem Licht.

Light walls, light ceilings, Tunable White

LED frames with Tunable White offer flexible light control for any application – from warm white to cool white. The adjustable color temperature ensures optimal illumination. Ideal for offices, healthcare facilities, and demanding presentation areas with changing lighting requirements.

Tunable White light walls and ceilings – Plannable surface lighting systems for biodynamic lighting concepts

Light walls and ceilings with tunable white technology are flat lighting systems for integration into wall and ceiling constructions with variable color temperature control. With a system depth of 100 mm, they enable uniform, homogeneous illumination combined with biologically effective light distribution.

Tunable white technology allows for stepless adjustment of the color temperature in the range of 2700 K to 7500 K. This enables the creation of both warm white lighting moods and energizing, daylight-like white. The systems are suitable for Human Centric Lighting (HCL) concepts and support time-of-day-dependent lighting control in architectural applications.

The photometric parameters are:

  • ca. 8.500 lm/m² (2700 K)
  • ca. 9.300 lm/m² (7500 K)
  • Color rendering: CRI > 85

The power consumption is approximately 125 W/m² (maximum value at 230 V). The actual power consumption varies depending on the area, set color temperature, and dimming level.

The system produces homogeneous, dot-free surface lighting through the combination of LED modules and diffusion-optimized textiles with an integrated diffuser layer. The textile covering can be replaced without tools, allowing for easy maintenance and design adjustments during operation.

Control is achieved via standardized interfaces such as DALI, DMX, or Casambi, making it compatible with common building automation systems. Tunable white transitions can be controlled based on time, sensors, or scenes.

For graphic applications, partial printing is recommended to avoid impairing light transmission and homogeneity. The textiles used are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified and suitable for sublimation printing.

The systems are scalable and suitable for different usage typologies, especially in healthcare (e.g. patient rooms, lounges), office and work environments, as well as in retail and hospitality projects with increased requirements for light quality and comfort.

In addition to standard formats, project-specific special geometries such as round, curved or free shapes are possible.
