Acoustic ceiling sail ‘Custom motif’ – Effective sound absorption with individual design
The acoustic ceiling sail ‘Custom motif’ combines maximum acoustic effectiveness with individual design and modern interior architecture. As a floating acoustic element, it is used specifically where most sound is generated: under the ceiling. With a sound absorber class A (according to DIN EN ISO 11654), the ceiling panel ensures a significant reduction in reverberation and noticeably improved speech intelligibility – especially in large, high or open rooms.
Thanks to the customisable textile print, the acoustic ceiling sail is not only a functional sound barrier, but also a distinctive design element for offices, conference rooms, educational institutions, restaurants and public buildings.
Product advantages
- Maximum sound absorption: Sound absorber class A for excellent room acoustics
Individual design: Your own motifs, graphics or CI-compliant design - Optimal ceiling solution: Sound absorption directly at the main sound source
- Complete suspension system included: Height-adjustable wire rope system (up to 3 m)
- Robust construction: aluminium frame, anodised, optionally powder-coated in RAL
- Sustainable materials: Oeko-TEX®100 certified and 100% recyclable
Possible applications
Optimal room acoustics from above
The acoustic ceiling sail effectively and evenly reduces disruptive reverberation in the room – especially where wall surfaces are insufficient or need to remain free for design purposes. It is ideal for:
- Offices & open-plan working environments: More peace and quiet, better concentration
- Meeting & conference rooms: Significantly improved speech intelligibility
- Schools & educational institutions: Quieter learning environment, fewer distractions
- Catering & hospitality: Pleasant sound environment for guests
- Public spaces: Acoustic optimisation without structural alterations
Individual design for your ceiling
The ‘Custom motif’ acoustic ceiling panel offers maximum design freedom. Your motif is transferred to the sound-absorbing textile print in high resolution and brilliant colours. Whether corporate design, graphic patterns, photographs or works of art – the ceiling panel blends seamlessly into your room concept.
Thanks to the piping system, the textile print is interchangeable and can be replaced at any time if required – ideal for seasonal adjustments or new brand identities.

FAQ
What is an acoustic ceiling panel?
An acoustic ceiling panel is a sound-absorbing element for installation under the ceiling. It specifically reduces reverberation and sound reflections by absorbing sound waves before they can spread throughout the room. This solution is particularly effective because most of the sound is generated in the ceiling area. Acoustic ceiling panels improve speech intelligibility, reduce noise and create significantly quieter room acoustics – without covering wall surfaces or making structural changes.
How effective is the Primex acoustic ceiling sail?
The ‘Custom Motif’ acoustic ceiling sail achieves sound absorption class A according to DIN EN ISO 11654, making it one of the most powerful acoustic elements for interiors. It achieves very high absorption values across a wide frequency range, especially in the speech-relevant range. This makes it ideal for offices, conference rooms, schools, restaurants, public institutions and other rooms with high noise and speech levels.
Why is ceiling mounting particularly effective?
Sound spreads spherically throughout a room and is reflected particularly strongly by ceiling surfaces. When installed as a suspended element, the acoustic ceiling sail acts directly on the main sound source. The free flow of air above and below the sail further increases the acoustic effectiveness and ensures a uniform reduction of reverberation throughout the room.

The difference in frame depths

The cause of poor room acoustics lies in smooth surfaces: sound waves, such as those from speaking, working, walking and other ambient noises, are reflected by these so-called reverberant surfaces. The more there are, the stronger it reverberates. Are there large window fronts, glass walls, wooden and stone floors, smooth walls, ceilings or tabletops in your rooms? Stand in the middle of the room and clap your hands. What you hear after clapping is called reverberation time. And the longer this is, the more unpleasant it is for our ears, because the sound passes by them several times from different directions.
