Automatic tensioning frame for visual and dimensional inspection of fabrics and printed textiles
Whether for mass production for a major customer or individual orders in large and small formats. With the Primex Q63 - The Fabric Screening System, you can check unprinted or printed fabrics and textiles quickly and easily:
- Quality control of dimensions and detection of format errors: e.g. errors when sewing keder (fabric too small or too large, corners not sewn neatly, crooked seam, etc.), Dimensional deviations due to shrinkage of the fabric, etc.
- Quality control of the printed image and detection of printing errors: e.g. print nozzle failure (usually lighter, white stripes), print head scratches/hangers (usually dark, black spots or smudge marks), overlaps caused by bending, weaving errors in the fabric, colour management errors, etc.
Reduce the number of customer complaints and increase customer satisfaction! Lower failure costs due to shorter quality control loops for individual orders or series production, with random sampling or 100% inspection. Possibility of photo documentation of the quality inspection in the final inspection of printed textiles/fabrics as proof of product quality - internally vis-à-vis production - externally vis-à-vis customers.

Technical Highlights of the Q63
General construction of the machine
- Modular in stud construction, machine is free standing, no wall is needed
- 18.231 million different frame sizes can be approached with the Q63
- Lightweight construction in aluminium - High-quality, precise aluminium profiles EN515 (T66), EN572-3 (EN-AW6063) for mechanical and plant engineering applications
- High-quality electronics, cables and connectors
- All cables protected in pipes/cable ducts, electrical contacts strain-relieved
- Switch cabinet for machine control - movable on castors
- Separate control cabinet for lighting technology at the rear of the machine
- Low operating costs, only 230V AC / 16 A current with 1.6 kW maximum power consumption
Precise, robust linear drives
(6 x in total in the machine)
- Linear actuators for linear motion with trapezoidal thread
- High positioning and repeat accuracy (+/- 0.2 mm)
- Left/right design enables counter-rotating movement
Intelligent compact drives
(4 x in total in machine)
- Positioning drives with absolute encoder, planetary gear, holding brake and Profinet interface with integrated power electronics.
- 48 V DC maintenance-free brushless DC motor for frequent and highly dynamic movements
- Planetary gearbox i=10 with efficiency up to 98 %, low backlash 10-15 arcmin
- High positioning resolution (0.009°), absolute position is always known after switching on, therefore, no reference runs necessary.
- USA/Canada: NRTL approval in accordance with UL 61800-5-1 and CSA C22.2 No.274 possible
Proven, reliable LED technologies
- Partial, switchable LED backlighting, with 24 V DC power supply unit
- Modular structure of the lighting technology
- High-quality Primex LED curtain LEDs - also used in Primex light boxes for area lighting
- LED lighting is dimmable via remote control
Maximum work safety for the operator
- Safety light curtain with PL e/Cat.4 (ISO13849-1) and SIL 3 (IEC 61508): cULus, CE and TÜV approval. Response time after 19ms, machine stops when triggered (emergency stop) and automatically returns to operating mode when the trigger object (hand) is removed again (automatic reset)
- Limit switches installed everywhere as a safety feature to prevent the unlikely mechanical ‘crash’ of moving parts by switching to emergency stop
- ‘Fall protection’ for lower movable profile rail, in the unlikely event that the retaining wire rope breaks
- No hearing protection or other personal protective equipment is required for working on the Q63 machine
The machine is very easy to operate
- Collaborative working between human and Q63 machine, simple, intuitive operator guidance
- Input via touchscreen display
- Textile dimensions can be entered via barcode
- Simple and ergonomic loading of the tensioning frame with the textile to be tested - even with large textiles thanks to operation at working height. Cycle time approx. 120 - 240 seconds depending on textile size and operator qualification.
- Available in any language (surcharge applies)
- Training/training duration for operators: max. 1-2 hours
- All data, logs, optional photos are stored on SSD (1 TB) in the control cabinet
- Machine creates its own WLAN, automatic transfer of logs and photos from SSD to a computer possible
Almost no maintenance necessary
- Machine is extremely low-maintenance: spray grease on the sliding surfaces of the linear drives (according to manufacturer of linear drives).
- Adjustment of the distance (target: 0 mm) between rollers and profile rails via retaining wire rope (video instructions available)
- Remote maintenance of the control unit possible, requires Internet connection via LAN

Operating Principle of Q63

For fabrics with a width of 800 to 6010 mm and a height of 500 to 3100 mm.

Manual input of textile dimensions via touchscreen or barcode scanner to avoid input errors.

Simple and ergonomic loading of the tensioning frame with the textile to be tested - even with large textiles thanks to operation at working height. Cycle time approx. 120 - 240 seconds depending on textile size and operator qualification.

The frame moves automatically to the preset textile dimensions.

Light function can be switched on for translucent textiles; the lighting area is adapted to the dimensions of the textile (incl. dimming function).

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
- Manual input of textile dimensions via touchscreen or barcode scanner to avoid input errors.
- Simple and ergonomic loading of the stenter frame with the textile to be tested - even with large textiles thanks to operation at working height. Cycle time approx. 120 - 240 seconds depending on textile size and operator qualification.
- Frame moves automatically to preset textile dimensions.
- Light function can be switched on for translucent textiles; the lighting is only partially adapted to the dimensions of the textile (incl. dimming function).
- Visual inspection of the textile by quality personnel (optional photo documentation).
- Frame moves back into working position for removal of the inspected textile after the visual inspection has been acknowledged.
